ATTORNEY PROFILE

I was born in the New York City area and attended undergraduate school in upstate New York. Having a strong interest in medical issues, I majored in biology and pre-med studies. Following graduation I was a medical researcher at UNC Chapel Hill and Burroughs-Wellcome (now Glaxo-SmithKlein) for five years before entering Law School.

As a law student I was first in my class in each of my three academic years and gave the valedictory address at Law School graduation in 1989. I was selected as a member of the Law Journal and Moot Court team and was awarded both the New Horizon Scholarship the Hornbook Award for Scholastic Achievement.

Since passing the bar in the summer of 1989 my legal practice has been mostly limited to representing children and adults who were injured as a result of medical malpractice. I have represented families along the full spectrum of life circumstances from birth injuries and cerebral palsy to negligent treatment of the elderly. During my 14 years in practice I have developed a particular niche in representing families whose preterm babies were left with significant visual impairments as a result of a failure to timely diagnose or properly treat Retinopathy of Prematurity.

I have reviewed a number of ROP cases and have achieved significant recoveries in all cases pursued.  I have developed a working relationship with several nationally known experts at major medical centers throughout the US. Whether working together or on opposite sides, we have developed a mutual respect that enhances my ability to prepare ROP and other complicated medical cases.

The Law Office of Martin A. Rosenberg is a small and selective practice that allows me to devote all the time and resources necessary to pursue a successful resolution of each case that I undertake. I have the experience, knowledge and passion necessary to pursue these complicated cases and a demonstrated understanding of the needs and requirements of families with children with severe disabilities.
